Rajasthan Grandeur

Royal icing artist Prachi Dhabal Deb and her grand Rajasthan-inspired creation

Ancestry shaped in sugar.

Inspired by her maternal Rajput lineage, this creation carries personal meaning. It is not only architectural. It is emotional.

Draped in a Rajasthani poshak reminiscent of her own wedding attire, royal icing artist Prachi Dhabal Deb channels heritage into structure. Domes and arches rise through intricate piping technique in vegan royal icing. Edible jewels gleam like heirlooms drawn from royal treasuries.

Crimson, turquoise, and gold dominate the palette. These are not decorative choices. They narrate tales of desert festivals, palace courts, and the interplay of light upon sandstone. Jaali patterns reflect ancient havelis. Meenakari-inspired detailing brings ornamental balance. The sarpech motif adds a regal, masculine counterpoint to the ornate structure.

This was palace-inspired edible art layered with identity.

The process demanded both emotional clarity and technical precision. Every curve had to remain stable. Every jewel had to feel intentional. Sugar cannot forgive imbalance.

In her artistic journey, this piece marked a return to her roots. It affirmed that cultural preservation through sugar artistry is not only about documentation. It is about belonging.

A kingdom, remembered gently.
